Simple is looking to add an experienced Android Engineer to our mobile team. If you have proven Android development skills we'd like to talk to you. We want a great coworker in addition to a great coder — passion, humor, and a desire to learn mean as much to us as technical chops.
Our engineers help define the direction of our product, publish on the company blog and release open source software. We're building something great for our customers and having fun doing it.
Get started by taking a look at our app in the Google Play Store.
Our Android developers mostly work with Java in Android Studio. Knowledge of other languages is a plus but not a requirement. It would be helpful if you're familiar with the Google Play Services and Otto libraries for Android.
Our other teams work mostly in Scala, Java, Ruby and Go. However, we've also written services in Python, R, and C. We like to use Amazon Web Services, Git, Chef, Jenkins, Redis, Postgres and other tools.
We work very closely with the iOS engineers and the rest of the company. It's important to be comfortable working with the customer relations, marketing and design teams, in addition to engineering.
Everything we write is designed for simplicity and maintainability. We take security very, very seriously.
Simple is based in Portland, Oregon. Relocation assistance is available. Unfortunately, we can't support international applicants at this time.
We offer competitive salaries, great benefits and a nice budget for your work laptop. We encourage and subsidize conference participation and continuing education. We believe in work/life balance and fostering a happy workplace.
If you're interested in building the future of personal banking with a group of nice, funny, smart people who love music, math, food, design, coffee, and code, Simple is the place for you.
Send us your resume and a cover letter when you're ready to apply. Please include links to relevant code samples (GitHub or other open source contributions) and screenshots of any applications you've worked on.
Note that applications without a cover letter won't be considered.
